First off let me say that I have spent most of my life in Connecticut and even though I did not attend UCONN, I have rooted for them whenever I had the chance. With that being said I am getting tired of UCONN fans talking about how good their football team is and how they will win the Big East and play in a BCS bowl. Stop the madness…please. Yes UCONN is currently ranked #13 in the BCS poll and has a chance at winning the Big East (if they can beat WV on 11/24) and could play in a BCS bowl. But are they really that good? No they aren’t - plain and simple. Look who UCONN has beat on their way to 7 wins…Duke, Maine, Akron and Temple? Wow those are some big time power houses aren’t they. And what about that ” big win” over Louisville ? Louisville is now 5 - 4 and was overrated to start the season. The only team I will give UCONN props for beating is South Florida, who in my opinion is the real deal. So all those wins mean what? Not much when your opponents combined win total equal 23.

23 wins / 7 teams = overrated.

You want some respect from me UCONN? Beat Rutgers, Beat West Virginia and then when you play a big time school outside the Big East in a bowl game…you don’t have to win, just show you belong.
