Coming off a good ole fashioned UNDEFEATED 4–0 with the Wild Card picks — but hey, I’m not one to gloat. I’ll just go about my business of picking winners, and we start with…
Seattle at GREEN BAY (-7 1/2) — Hasselback gets another chance at the Pack after his now infamous “We want the ball, and we’re going to score” line back in the 2004 playoffs at Lambeau. I don’t see him faring any better this time around, as a rested and ready GB team will pressure Hasselback and run the ball well enough with Ryan Grant to advance. Pack win, 23-13.
Jacksonville at NEW ENGLAND (-13) — So tempted to pick the Jags. Tough coach, gutty QB, power and finesse running game. Good karma to boot. Unfortunately, the ride ends here. Bellicheck has been on a steady diet of coffee, bacon egg and cheese sandwiches and Fritos as he’s more than likely lived in his office the past 2 weeks preparing. NE rolls on Saturday night, 38-21.
San Diego at INDIANAPOLIS (-9 1/2) — I can’t take all the home favorites, can I? I’m a little torn, but I think SD might put up a bigger fight than a lot of people are suggesting. Yes, Peyton is rested and ready. Yes, Bob Sanders is the NFL defensive player of the year. Yes, they’re the Superbowl champs. But SD has weapons, and I say they put up a fight and cover the large spread. Indy wins in an unexpected squeaker, 24-20.
New York at DALLAS (-7 1/2) — I work in NYC. I’ve never seen a town get so amped up for a mediocre team. Mediocre. It will show on Sunday afternoon. I would like to officially warn Eli (I swear I wasn’t adopted) Manning about the pending toment DeMarcus Ware will inflict all afternoon.  Romo is taking a lot of heat for how he spends his time away from the field – pretty ridiculous stuff but I guess it sells papers.  Romo & Co. roll, 41-17.Â
Great weekend of action. Crack em open.
