Great time of year. All of the fantasy nerds get shoved aside for some real hardnosed meaningful football (actually I did see a commercial for playoff fantasy football, but I’m not ready for that quite yet - if ever).Â
Wild Card Weekend is always a treat — and especially this year because 3 out of the 4 match-ups look completely up in the air (seems everyone and their Grammy is picking SD over Tennessee). With that said, on to the match-ups…
Washington at SEATTLE (-3) (Sat 4:30pm) — I’m hearing a lot of the “watch out for Washington” talk in the past week but I’m not buying. Bottom line — Todd Collins on the road against an above average defensive team with a great home crowd. Going with the Hags, 23-13.
Jacksonville (-3) at PITTSBURGH (Sat 8pm) — Jacksonville is hungry, favored and much healthier. Pittsburgh is banged up, without their leading rusher and looking vulnerable. Equation = Pittsburgh in an upset.  Since when was it easy to walk into Pittsburgh and knock them off? Disrespected all week, I bet the Steelers come out looking hungrier than my Uncle Barney at last week’s feast. Pittsburgh, 31-24.
New York Giants at TB (-3) (Sunday 1pm) — I just don’t see Tampa Bay putting up enough points to win. Simple as that. The Giants are feeling good about themselves after their “moral victory” against New England and Tampa just looks to me like an average team. NY is 7-1 on the road this season so that’s not a factor — NY wins 27-10.
Tennessee at SD (-10) (Sunday 4:30pm) — Going with the pundits –Â no ghosts of playoff past this year as SD rolls, 38-13.
Enjoy Wild Card Weekend, I know I will ~

I’m with you on the Seahawks. The majic carpet dragon ride is over for Todd “another 2nd rate Michigan QB” Collins.
I can’t say I agree with you on the Jags and Steelers. The Pittsburgh mystique is all they got going for them in this one. They look beat up and ready to fly south for the winter. Pittsburgh turns yellow at the thought of heading back to New England for another b’slapping. The Jags, on the other hand, are on a fancy free collision course with the Pats without any trepadation. The Jags D line can already smell Giselle’s tasty beav on Brady’s fingers - they are on the warpath.
I can’t say I’m with you on the Giants and Bucs either. Have you ever seen a team get more props for losing a game? Eli Manning cannot play under pressure. All he did against the Pats was put off NYC Eli bashing for a week. He is a total goober. Peyton’s Daddy’s favorite. Jeff Garcia will end Giants season with craftiness and sheer grit.
Titans and Bolts. Who cares.
