Please choose which of these NFL annual occurrences is most likely to happen:
A)Â The Arizona Cardinals won’t make the playoffs.
B)Â Speculation whether or not Tom Coughlin will get fired.
C)Â A Cincinnati Bengal will be arrested.Â
D)Â Bill Parcells will find a way to get his name in the press.
Actually, all are EXTREMELY likely to happen — but for the point of this post I’d choose D - Bill Parcells. Is it any surprise that Parcells feels the need to feed his ego and appetite for attention that he’s throwing himself back into football? How likely is it that he’ll stay the duration of the 4 year contract he’s signing to run football operations at Miami? With his track record, not likely. Add Wayne Huizenga to the list of NFL owners that will be cursing out the Big Tuna in 2010 after two losing seasons and one missing VP of football operations.
I guess it just shows a real lack of quality in the NFL ranks. Teams lose, fans get restless, owners get desperate, and Bill Parcells gets a phone call.
