Finally the Oakland Raiders have gotten that monkey off their backs and they have won a game within their division. Oakland hadn’t beaten anybody in their division since a 25-24 squeaker over Denver on Nov. 28, 2004, the longest ongoing streak of divisional weakness in the NFL. If you look at this game, the Chiefs came into it struggling so down the line Oakland had to win a game against them. It’s not only Kansas City, look at the whole entire division, the Chargers are chokers- Chiefs are underachievers-and the Broncos have nothing spectacular at all. If there is any division that is competing with the NFC West for the worst division in the NFL, it is definitely the AFC West.
But I must focus and talk about the Raiders more, their running back Justin Fargas is a good player and a must-keep asset to the team. He looked absolutely amazing today, today was the best I’ve seen him play in a while. And while I am at it, I must say that I was doubly impressed with the performance of the Chief’s rookie RB Kolby Smith- he had 150 yds, 31 carries and 2 TDs. Not too bad for someone who just assumed the role as starting running back. This game was close and good, I cannot believe that I am saying this but I really enjoyed this game. Who would have though that these two bad teams could play such a hard fought game?
